Despite the positive expectations created by social media, their use at the workplace has still not attracted waves of employees as initially anticipated. Many reasons for this exist, but the most important one is that top executives and managers do not talk to their internal crowds. They stick to their classic workflow contacts and hardly get in touch with someone who is situated strides of hierarchical distance. The opposite is always true as hardly average employees dare to establish a direct tie with the top management via classic communication tools.The wisdom of internal crowds exists, but needs to be tapped and triggered.
