A new approach to financial valuation, international accounting standards, and prudential standards
"Developing performance indicators means giving ourselves the means to manage sustainable, responsible and profitable growth".
Philippe Foulquier, Director of EDHEC Sustainable Value Creation Chair
The EDHEC Sustainable Value Creation Chair was created in 2006 to address the issues of corporate performance, value creation and valuation. Social and societal transformation, environmental issues, digitalisation, the user economy, and increased uncertainty in a global world are all leading to a real questioning of the paradigms of corporate performance and valuation.
Sustainable Value Creation is the subject of numerous requests from senior management to adapt their strategy to a constantly changing environment. The Chair has successfully implemented a holistic and dynamic management system that integrates the last forty years of financial innovations in one year. A real disruption is emerging: pivoting from business management focused on margins to a culture of three-dimensional performance: margin-capital-risk.
The next challenge? The Chair is working on the implementation of a financial-environmental-social-societal quadriptych in order to support companies in the face of this new challenge, but also to create a reference index to help all stakeholders, because from now on, this is everybody's business.
