A unique opportunity to support the marketing strategy of the EDHEC Climate Institute, the research center of EDHEC Business focused on climate research and the expansion of a pioneering venture in climate risk ratings, Scientific Climate Ratings (an EDHEC Venture) empowering investors and issuers with science-based ratings of climate risk financial materiality.
Position overview
This role requires strong technical curiosity and the ability to independently transform complex climate risk methodologies into high-impact content for professional audiences.
As a Climate Research Writer / Content Producer, you will report directly to both entities (Head of Marketing). You will be pivotal in crafting and disseminating content that highlights the importance, purpose, and methodologies of our work. Your role will involve producing regular, compelling content that educates and engages our audience, showcasing the value of our research and of climate risk ratings and reinforcing both entities’ brand position leader in the field.
You will split your time evenly (50/50) between the two entities.
Main Responsibilities
1. Content Development and Strategy Execution:
• Translate complex datasets into meaningful narratives for a global audience of investors, risk teams, financial institutions, and executive leaders.
• Monitor industry trends and market events to produce timely research that resonates with current challenges.
• Develop a consistent editorial calendar to deliver weekly content across multiple platforms, emphasizing the relevance and impact of our climate risk assessments.
• Create diverse content forms, including articles, blog posts, white papers, and video scripts, that align with our strategic goals and increase our audience’s understanding of climate risk.
• Collaborate with climate experts and analysts within the agency to ensure content accuracy and relevancy, and with the marketing to refine content based on market trends and audience feedback.
2. Engagement and Education:
• Produce informative and persuasive content that explains why our research and climate risk ratings are essential, how they are developed, and what differentiates our approach.
• Participate in industry conferences and webinars, either as a speaker or observer, to stay current on climate risk topics and gather insights for content updates.
• Enhance audience engagement through clear, actionable, and thought-provoking content that drives conversations around climate risk and sustainability.
3. Digital Presence and Analytics:
• Manage the content distribution through our digital platforms including our website, social media, and email newsletters to maximize reach and impact, and utilize analytics tools to track content performance and user engagement, adjusting strategies as needed to improve visibility and impact.
4. Technical Content Translation
• Translate internal methodologies, models, and research outputs into external-facing content without oversimplification.
• Work directly with researchers and business teams within the agency to extract insights, challenge assumptions, and clarify technical narratives.
• Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to refine content based on market trends and audience feedback.
• Ensure scientific rigor while maintaining accessibility for financial and investment audiences.
Requirements for the Role
Academic & Professional Experience
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Climate Science, or a related technical field (journalism & communications background considered only with strong technical experience).
• 3+ years of experience producing content directly informed by scientific, technical, or quantitative financial research, ideally in climate risk, sustainability, or adjacent domains.
Capabilities & Fit
• A proactive, creative editorial mindset with a passion for environmental issues and sustainable development.
• Ability to understand and explain climate models, scenarios, financial materiality, and risk frameworks
• Ability to work with subject-matter experts and independently structure content from raw or technical inputs.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage or fast-evolving environment
Strategic & Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, social media strategies, and analytics tools.
• Hands-on experience with CMS platforms, analytics tools, and content creation workflows (e.g. Notion, WordPress, Canva, Figma, AI-assisted tools).
Writing Skills
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English is a must; additional languages are a plus.
