Bio

David Yoon is Full Professor of Strategy and International Business at EDHEC Business School. Prior to joining EDHEC, he served as Department Chair and Full Professor at the University of York and as Associate Professor of International Business at the University of Leeds. His research explores how institutions and national culture shape the behavior of firms and entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on technological innovation and sustainable development, including issues related to aging, climate change, and social mobility. His work has been published or is forthcoming in leading academic journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, among others.

Alongside his co-authors, Professor Yoon has received recognition for his research, including the Palgrave Macmillan Prize for Best Conference Paper at the 2024 Academy of International Business (AIB) Conference. His work has also been named a finalist for several prestigious awards, including the International Business Review Best Paper Award (2021), the AIB Best Paper Award (2022), and the AOM IM Division IU-Kelley Best Paper Award in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability (2026).

Professor Yoon has led multiple research projects funded by prestigious organizations, including the British Academy, the Leverhulme Trust, and the Inter-American Development Bank. He is actively engaged in the global scholarly community and currently serves as a committee officer for the Academy of International Business' Sustainability Shared Interest Group.

Prior to entering academia, Professor Yoon gained professional experience working for NYSE-listed consulting firms, including Accenture and Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan. He is particularly interested in supporting French start-up companies and entrepreneurs on issues related to international business strategy, sustainability, and technological innovation.
