Bio

Thomas Lorans is Senior Research Engineer at EDHEC Climate Institute. He was previously Deputy Head of ESG and Climate Research at Scientific Portfolio, an EDHEC Venture. With eight years of experience as a quantitative ESG researcher, he has worked for organizations such as the London Stock Exchange Group, Wilshire Indexes, and Scientific Beta. He holds an MSc in applied economics from ENSAE. Thomas is the co-author of "Beyond Carbon Price: A Scenario-Based Quantification of Portfolio Financial Loss from Climate Transition Risks", published in collaboration with Scientific Portfolio, an EDHEC joint venture. He also authored a two-part study in the FTSE Working Paper Series on assessing climate change risks for sovereign bonds. Additionally, he has delivered two editions of the course "Climate Risks in Python" at the Clermont School of Business.
