EDHEC Business School strengthens its global standing in entrepreneurship education
EDHEC Business School has once again distinguished itself in Poets&Quants’ 2026 ranking of the Best MBA Programs for Entrepreneurship ranking #2 in the world, confirming the strong entrepreneurial DNA of its Global MBA. In addition to placing 2nd in the world overall, EDHEC also stood out for the strength of its academic offering and the successes achieved by its alumni.
Global leader for entrepreneurship-focused electives and entrepreneurship-focused mentors
EDHEC ranked first worldwide for the proportion of MBA elective courses dedicated entirely to entrepreneurship and the number of entrepreneurship and innovation-focused mentors. During the 2024–2025 academic year, 67% of its elective portfolio was fully entrepreneurship-focused—a significant increase from last year’s 55%, when the school also topped this category. At EDHEC, there were 5.58 mentors per MBA student.
These results reflect EDHEC’s commitment to developing entrepreneurial capabilities through hands-on, experiential learning. Indeed, EDHEC Global MBA offers dedicated modules such as entrepreneurial finance, venture growth strategies, and innovation management, as well as practical immersion through startup labs and project-based learning.
EDHEC’s MBA students also benefit from a dedicated Entrepreneurship Track, which offers courses in ideation, product creation, business modelling, scaling, and marketing for start-ups… The programme culminates in a pitch session at TechForward, with top pitches invited to continue in the incubator with additional mentoring from business angels. Other resources include the Plug & Play University Partnership, which allows select students to work as investment analysts reviewing up to 20 ventures per week, and one-to-one career coaching from industry experts. In addition, throughout the curriculum, 100% of MBAs have direct involvement with a startup (live business cases or projects with start-ups).
Top 10 worldwide for startup creation
In the five-year period covering the MBA classes of 2020 to 2024, 7.54% of EDHEC’s full-time MBA graduates launched a startup within three months of graduation. This performance places EDHEC inside the global top 10 on this metric, confirming the programme’s ability to help participants turn ideas into viable ventures.
This outcome is reinforced by the school’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, which includes the EDHEC Entrepreneurs incubator, offering mentoring, workspace, and access to funding partners, close proximity to the innovation hubs of Nice, Paris and Lille, enabling interaction with early-stage investors and corporate partners and, a purpose-driven learning environment, encouraging participants to integrate sustainability and social impact into their business models.
This year’s ranking confirms EDHEC’s growing visibility among institutions that prioritise entrepreneurial skills and thinking.
“This recognition by Poets & Quants reinforces the unique entrepreneurial DNA of the EDHEC Global MBA,” commented Sandra Richez, Global MBA Programme Director. “Our goal is to empower participants to think and act like entrepreneurs—whether they go on to launch ventures, innovate within global companies and start-ups, or drive positive change in society. The combination of experiential learning, strong mentorship, and access to thriving innovation ecosystems enables our MBAs to transform bold ideas into real-world impact.”
