EDHEC lays the foundation stone of its future campus

Opened by Emmanuel Métais, Dean of EDHEC, the ceremony drew a large audience comprising representatives from institutions and partners, and members of the EDHEC community (students, professors and staff). A number of personalities spoke to underline the ambition attached to the project: Anne Zuccarelli, Dean of Educational Experience & Operations at EDHEC, Xavier Bouffart, Architect-Partner of blaq Architectures, Éric Skyronka, President of the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL), Manoëlle Martin, Vice-President of the Hauts-de-France Region in charge of higher education, research, student life and career guidance and of CREFOP, as well as Samira Alouane, Sub-Prefect for the Roubaix area.

All the speakers emphasised the aims of the Share & Care project: to create a campus capable of responding to the challenges of the future and of fostering academic innovation, while also being more sustainable, more open to the surrounding region and more collaborative for the benefit of the whole community.

Following the speeches, members of local and regional government, partners, collaborators, high-school pupils involved in the EDHEC Talents Lycées Bootcamp programme, students, professors and EDHEC’s administrative teams all contributed to a work of art devised by the Lille-based artist LEM. All were invited to add a touch of paint to the foundation stone, which was transformed into a collective work of art for the occasion.

The work will be incorporated into the future building and more particularly into the foundations of the Agora section scheduled for completion in September 2027.

This project furthers the objectives set out in EDHEC’s Generations 2050 strategic plan, by creating a learning environment that combines innovation, academic excellence, openness to the surrounding region and environmental responsibility.
