Aikumis Sydykova joined EDHEC MSc in Marketing Management in 2021. Lifestyle blogger, Aikumis shares her study abroad experience on Instagram.
“Bonjour! My name is Aikumis Sydykova, I come from Kazakhstan. In June 2021, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Nazarbayev University, the best research-oriented university in Central Asia. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant, interpreter, and SMM manager, founded a student club, traveled, and started learning French. I knew for sure that I wanted to pursue my studies in Marketing, so when it was time to apply for a graduate school, EDHEC was my definitive choice.
It has been almost 3 months since my arrival in France. I feel that I am already in love with French food, culture, and people. I also actively work on my little blog, @aika_sydykova on Instagram, where I share my daily life as an international student in France. My followers are often curious about the application process and study experience at EDHEC, so I do my best to share helpful information for the Russian-speaking audience, and I really hope that in the future, there will be more students from the CIS countries at EDHEC.!
The first thing I love about EDHEC is its international community. For instance, this year we have students from 42 countries in my MSc, and I can say that I have found friends from all over the world. Another thing I like is that we are given a lot of real-life cases to solve during the lectures. For example, we are currently working on proposing a new product for Group SEB, the largest manufacturer of cookware in the world! We also have meetings with the managers from well-known companies like L’Oréal and LVMH.”
