“November is usually the month during which everyone’s mood decreases because the weather is not as nice, the night falls quicker, summer is long gone and Christmas holidays are not around the corner yet. All of that combined does not make a great cocktail for motivation. And to add insult to injury, this year, we started with a curfew and ended up with another lockdown. I already had the idea to do a challenge before all that happened, so it only reinforced the need to launch it. I called it #EnAvantNovembre, because even though we cannot move very far away from home, we can still do so many things. The challenge is designed to cultivate optimism, joy, laughter, connection, and so on. To do so, every day, I share one wellness activity with my friends at EDHEC and people on Instagram and YouTube using the hashtag #EnAvantNovembre. For example, on November 1st, we wrote 3 things we were grateful for in the lockdown situation. On November 7th, we wrote ourselves a love letter. Today’s challenge (Monday November 16th) is to start the week by planning one personal activity a day (calling a friend, doing a workout class, writing, drawing, reading, and so on – whatever makes one feel good).

The challenge keeps me connected to my friends at EDHEC because I send them the challenge every morning on our group chat and they are always happy to do it! One morning, I even forgot to send it and they asked me what was the day’s challenge. I see that it not only keeps us connected but also motivated and determined to make the most of that rough period we are going through.

I’m really grateful to have found at EDHEC a community of people from many different countries coming together to celebrate and share. I can’t wait to see them again as soon as we can!
