Lionel Melin, PhD is Associate Researcher at EDHEC Climate Institute. He works with the “Climate Scenarios” research team, focusing on the implementation of a novel Dynamic Integrated Climate-Economy (DICE) model. He is the CEO of MacroLucid Research, an independent economic consulting firm specialising in ESG finance. He began his financial career as an emerging markets economist and fixed income strategist for Deutsche Bank and later as a senior cross-asset strategist for Société Générale Lyxor Asset Management. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in statistics from the ENSAE in Paris. While a doctoral student, Lionel conducted research projects with the Federal Reserve of Chicago, the International Monetary Fund, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and BNP Paribas. He has held lectureships at the University of Chicago and has co-authored many academic papers published in the Journal of Impact and ESG Investing, Journal of Asset Management and Journal of Portfolio Management.
