Danae Sakkou from Greece began the EDHEC Global MBA program in the January intake. Before coming to EDHEC, she was an instructor at several language schools teaching English. In 2013, she completed a Master?s degree in linguistic development, which included studying human cognition and various language disorders. After three years of teaching, she was ready for new challenges as well as new opportunities - the EDHEC MBA was just the solution.
Having only arrived in Nice in January, Danae is still adjusting to her new surroundings and given the flurry of EDHEC activity, she has yet to really discover all of that Nice has to offer.
While the pace of MBA life has been brisk, she enjoys that the learning is action-oriented and requires fast integration. Besides Finance, she has already had classes in: Managing the Internationalization of the Firm, Strategy, E-Marketing, and now, Consulting Methodologies. But more than just the content she is learning, what she really enjoys is having fun with her peers from diverse backgrounds. She was pleasantly surprised at how integrated the class is, despite the varieties of ages and experiences. Learning both about and from her new friends is the best part of her new adventure.
Considering the future, Danae plans to use her new MBA skills to move into a management position within an education company. Part of her rationale for choosing EDHEC was the location: she would like to stay and work in France after graduation. Despite the MBA workload and acclimating to her new environment, she is currently initiating her search for internship opportunities at international schools in Monaco this summer.
