EDHEC GLOBAL MBA PARTICIPANTS TRAVEL TO LONDON FOR CONSULTING PANEL AND NETWORKING EVENT
Six Global MBA participants interested in learning more about careers in consulting travelled to London for the first LinkedIn MBA Employer Panel. The evening networking event was an excellent opportunity for MBA students from the UK and Europe to engage with executives and recruiters from Roland Berger, Accenture, and McKinsey & Company in an intimate setting.
Melanie Jobin, a Canadian participant with a background as a rail traffic controller, said the event really reinforced her goal to work in consulting. What surprised her the most was when one panelist described consulting as “freedom, and that being a manager means you can design your own schedule.” The best part for Melanie was “the quality one-on-one time with the panelists.”
For Arun Daniel, also from Canada, with a background in management consulting and running his own business, the event was “well moderated, and asked good questions” and the panelists were very open and available to the MBA students during the cocktail hour. “It was encouraging to hear that firms are willing to hire MBAs with 5 to 7 years of experience,” he remarked, and that it was also “great to meet with MBA students from other business schools and compare experiences.”
