Meet Thomas Hofer: MSc in Management Studies
Thomas Hofer works as a Marketing Strategist for a film equipment rental company in London. Interested in improving his personal leadership skills to influence positive decision making, Thomas selected the MSc in Management Studies programme because “It perfectly suited my desire to acquire a holistic understanding of business with management training.”
Choosing to study management to progress his career to the next level, Thomas says, “I wanted to acquire the right knowledge to be a responsible manager and build a dynamic network with like-minded people based on friendships made during my studies”
The Life-long membership to the EDHEC alumni network and the expertise of the programme’s instructors are highly regarded attributes of the School. The 40,000 strong alumni network is available, worldwide, to support students and graduates in promoting their businesses and career ambitions.
The publication record, professional experience and research led by EDHEC professors is world renown. New ideas, confirmed by academia as well as the market needs of business, are taught and studied at EDHEC Business School. To stay ahead of the trends; the latest ideas, such as answering the question, “how can managers identify valid sources of innovation?” are often shared on EDHECVox before they’re further developed and presented as official academic papers.
Impressed by the School’s high international rankings, Thomas selected EDHEC’s MSc in Management Studies programme because of how approachable, helpful and competent the EDHEC recruiters were. Other factors that contributed to Thomas’ decisions were the international student body, the fact that you could obtain a degree from a Grand École in English and the value for money of the MSc MIM Programme. Thomas says, “EDHEC has an extremely straightforward admission process.” Continuing, he said “I felt well looked after, and more importantly, I got the feeling that the School was actively interested in having me as a student.”
Thomas enrolled with the intention of applying his new skills and management experiences towards developing a business plan to support international marketing initiatives. This career goal further strengthened his attraction to EDHEC. The location of the campus is an advantage to anyone with international ambitions: “Lille,” he said, “is extremely well connected to three major capitals in Europe. I also love being able to attend courses in English, whilst simultaneously improving my French.”
