EDHEC promotes equal opportunities through wide-ranging financial and personal support

Because success should never be determined by financial resources, EDHEC Business School deploys substantial means each year to support its students. Thanks to EDHEC’s engagement and the support of the EDHEC Foundation through its  EDHEC For All programme, over 40% of students benefit from a form of financial assistance during their studies. An ambitious policy that also includes easy-to-access personal support.

In 2025, €14 million of financial assistance – in the form of bursaries & scholarships, loans and emergency financial assistance – was deployed to enable students to pursue their studies in the best possible conditions. As Alexandre Caron, Director of Student Engagement and Diversity, explains, “The School’s financial assistance is designed to ensure equal opportunities are a practical reality for our students. Our approach enables each individual to pursue fulfilling studies without hindrance, whatever their starting point”.

Bursaries & scholarships, loans, emergency financial assistance: an all-round approach

For students joining the School on the EDHEC International BBA and Master in Management programmes who are fiscally attached to France, the School offers bursaries awarded on social criteria. Based on the CROUS scale, the funding mechanism covers varying percentages of students’ tuition fees, ranging from 10% for students on echelon 0B to 100% for those on echelon 7. “It’s a continuous effort by the School”, underlines Alexandre Caron, “with the measures changing each year and tending towards greater inclusion”.

EDHEC also promotes academic excellence through several scholarship mechanisms for French and international students. Excellence scholarships linked to results in the French baccalaureate, the EDHEC Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Women in Finance and Data Science Scholarship or Cultural Diversity Scholarships. All these initiatives provide a means to attract and support talented individuals from a diversity of backgrounds.

For families facing temporary financing difficulties, the School also offers interest-free loans. Providing €2,900 of assistance per year of studies, they offer a complementary and accessible solution, with repayment deferred for up to four years after the end of the student’s programme.

Lastly, because certain students’ studies can be disrupted by unpredictable events, EDHEC operates a system of emergency financial assistance. This exceptional support provides a means of responding to sudden and complex financial situations. The students concerned may be guided towards different bodies providing assistance and be encouraged to apply for an EDHEC solidarity bursary. These forms of assistance are examined on a case-by-case basis at a monthly committee meeting.

Beyond financial support, close-knit personal support

EDHEC’s engagement is not limited to financing studies. The School provides a variety of student-centred personalised support mechanisms, with all students having easy access to identified contact persons, thanks to dedicated tools that can be used to make appointments. “They know they can come and see us at any time if they encounter difficulties”, explains Alexandre Caron. Thanks to this proximity, the School’s teams can quickly spot situations of fragility and thereby respond fast. In the case of exceptional financial assistance measures, for example, financial criteria account for only part of the analysis. Social, personal and psychological aspects are also taken into consideration in order to offer all-round support.

A lasting ambition in the interests of student success

Where necessary, students may be guided towards complementary services, such as those related to mental health, via access to specialist professionals.

Reflecting changes in economic circumstances and increased needs, EDHEC is strengthening its support policy, e.g. simplification of procedures, increase in sums allocated, improvement in available information and creation of innovative tools, such as a dedicated chatbot. The School invests continually to make its various forms of assistance more understandable, easier to access and more effective.

This approach reasserts EDHEC’s desire to make equal opportunities a practical reality and to give all students the means to succeed both academically and professionally.
