On 1st December, EDHEC’s Paris campus hosted a special event on green finance, marking the official launch of a new partnership between the Global MiM – GETT and Natixis, Groupe BPCE. The event brought together students, faculty and industry experts for a masterclass focused on sustainable finance, followed a few days later by a visit to Natixis’ headquarters in Paris. These activities introduced students to this major player of the banking sector, with a focus on green finance along with a presentation of other key functions in the company.

For Sébastien Dieuaide, Director of the Global MiM – GETT, the partnership is a natural fit:

“Natixis – Groupe BPCE was a natural partner for us on many levels: although the Global MiM - GETT is a generalist management programme, we know many of its graduates go and work in finance. Besides, the values of the company, its entrepreneurial mindset and focus on collective intelligence and sustainable impact are perfectly aligned with the spirit and academic content of the programme.”

The green finance masterclass delivered by Natixis experts — including EDHEC alumni and even a former Global MiM - GETT student — gave current students a direct insight into how finance and sustainability intersect.

“When we explored axes of collaboration with Natixis, a green finance masterclass seemed like the perfect option: finance is key to any students following a master in management, and over the past few years, an increasing proportion of students and graduates of the programme have made CSR a priority, so green finance was the perfect answer as it is at the intersection of both worlds. Last year for instance, 67% of the graduates of the programme had CSR-related jobs, 19% as their main mission. It was great to have EDHEC alumni, and even a Global MiM - GETT alumnus, to give this masterclass – it enabled students to understand the relevance of their academic programme for their professional careers.”

For students, the experience was both practical and inspiring, as confirmed by Juliette Gainnet, a current student of the programme:

“It’s a great opportunity for us! I think deciding what career path to follow can be a bit daunting, so having a corporate partner through which we can discover different professions is really helpful,” she said. “Speaking with industry professionals really helps me project myself into the future.”

Juliette, who hopes to work in sustainable finance, found the masterclass particularly valuable. “It’s a great way to hear from industry experts how they actually use the concepts and theories we've learned in class,” she said. She was especially struck by an example of a sustainable bond linked to the penetration of vegan products in a company’s revenue — a reminder of how broad and creative sustainable finance can be. “It really gave us a more concrete impression of what sustainable finance represents and what its challenges are.”

The second part of the partnership’s launch took students inside Natixis’ Paris headquarters, where they met professionals from teams ranging from Credit Solutions Trading to the Green & Sustainable Hub.

As part of the partnership, Global MiM - GETT students were privileged to be invited to Natixis’ Paris headquarters and to attend presentations from finance experts working across various fields within the bank. According to Sébastien Dieuaide, “This enabled students to understand the practical missions and challenges of these functions and to gain a clearer understanding of the banking sector, helping them shape their professional paths — first for their internships, then for their future careers.”

For Juliette, the opportunity to speak openly with professionals made the visit especially meaningful.

“We were able to visit Natixis and hear from professionals from different teams, as well as ask them questions about their experiences,” she said. “It made me more aware of my options and what my career progression could look like.”

She also believes the partnership benefits the entire cohort. “Some of us might not consider finance when they start, I know I didn't. But having this kind of exposure is so valuable because it shows us what the profession actually looks like, and it gets us thinking about opportunities we might not considered otherwise.”

With this new partnership, Global MiM - GETT students gain first-hand access to a major financial institution committed to sustainable transformation. Through masterclasses, site visits and direct exchanges with experts, they can connect their academic journey with emerging career paths — whether they follow the USA/Asia pathway or the Europe pathway — and gain a clearer view of the opportunities ahead throughout their international experience.
