Management in Innovative Health Chair

As an expert in digital health, the Management in Innovative Health Chair supports healthcare stakeholders in navigating industry transformation, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and patient-centred innovation.

« At a time when artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare, medicine is facing major challenges that cannot be ignored. While these changes raise ethical questions, it is essential to understand how these technologies are being adopted by patients and healthcare stakeholders alike. More broadly, they call for deeper reflection on the transformation of the healthcare sector and the challenges it brings.».   Loick Menvielle, Director of the Management in Innovative Health Chair

Our Purpose

The Management in Innovative Health Chair at EDHEC Business School seeks to better understand and support the transformation of healthcare systems in an era shaped by artificial intelligence, digital health, and today’s major health, technological and organisational challenges. Bringing together the humanities and social sciences, management sciences and medicine, the Chair takes a transdisciplinary approach to health innovation and the changes it brings for patients, healthcare professionals, organisations and the wider healthcare ecosystem. The Chair is founded on a simple premise: scientific or technological excellence alone is not enough to ensure that an innovation has a meaningful impact. Its successful integration into healthcare systems also depends on human, organisational, economic, ethical and institutional factors. The Chair therefore seeks to better understand the conditions required to bridge the gap between scientific innovation, real-world practice and patients’ needs, thereby supporting the transition towards more preventive, personalised, participatory and sustainable healthcare systems.

This ambition is built on three complementary pillars: academic research, education and knowledge sharing. Through its work, the Chair produces knowledge to inform decision-making among healthcare stakeholders, contributes to the education of professionals and future leaders, and fosters dialogue between academic research and operational realities.
