Q&A Transformation Lille Campus
Our Lille campus has entered a phase of major transformation.
This ambitious real estate project is central to the Share & Care for People and the Planet policy. It constitutes one of the major projects of the Generations 2050 strategic plan. This page brings together all the essential questions relating to the transformation of the Lille Campus and their impact on the daily lives of our students.
Planning and site organisation
The work will take place over 40 months, in two phases. It began in July 2025.
The S (Services) building on the Lille campus requires a major energy renovation to reduce the site's carbon footprint by 40%, in addition to the already implemented use of decarbonized energy.
This project also aims to optimise and modernise the spaces to improve the working environment for both students and staff. A new central space, the Agora, will foster interaction and conviviality on campus.
Other transformations are also planned:
- The Manoir will see its professional and VIP rooms renovated.
- The dining building will include 8 new classrooms.
- The school favors the reuse of existing buildings, placing the project in a responsible approach (50% less greenhouse gas emissions compared to new construction), while preserving the site's exceptional biodiversity.
- Enhanced support for soft mobility: more bike shelters and electric vehicle charging stations.
- BREEAM certification to ensure a sustainable and high-performance living environment.

Impact on the Student Experience
The student experience will be preserved. Student life will remain rich and diverse. The Career Centre team will continue to welcome you in their dedicated areas within the S building. Dining facilities will remain accessible.
The “Share and Care campus for people and the planet” strategy, being progressively implemented, reflects EDHEC’s commitment to delivering a high-quality, holistic student experience to prepare students to act for business transformation and build sustainable, inclusive development.
In 2027, to foster a new way of living together, EDHEC will create an Agora—a true campus heart—offering students, faculty, researchers, and partners a unique, vibrant space that encourages exchange, shared experiences, collective emulation, and serendipity. From September 2027, the Agora will include:
- A 24/7 open learning center suitable for group work, along with expanded student association spaces;
- Campus services: postal and banking services, a mini-market, luggage storage, connected snack bars, a shop...
- Wellness and health services, including medical and psychological support;
New workspaces will be created on campus to compensate for lost areas. For example, level R2 will be redesigned for this purpose.
The number of available classrooms will not be affected.
Yes, the library will remain open.
Everything will be done to ensure exams take place in the best possible conditions, minimising disruptions.
Accessibility & Campus Circulation
No, access to the campus via Rue Verte and Avenue Delory will remain unchanged.
Yes. Bypassing building S from the field to building E will not be possible during Phase 1 (2025–2027). This restriction will extend to the corner of building S facing the Manoir during Phase 2 (2027–2029).
Outside of construction zones, all spaces will remain accessible, with circulation adaptations if needed.
Additional parking areas for bicycles and scooters will be available upon completion of the work.
Student Life, Events, and Campus Activities
There will be some impacts, which will be managed on a case-by-case basis with event organisers.
Yes, they will remain accessible.
The 2025 Celebrations will take place on the Lille campus.
Yes, the gym will remain accessible under the current conditions, so you can continue using it as usual.
Student Housing
No, the residences will not be impacted.
Safety and Construction Conditions
The Lille campus is heavily wooded and features remarkable plant areas. It is a real asset for our staff and students, contributing to biodiversity, CO₂ absorption, and overall quality of life at work. EDHEC will continue its efforts to preserve and enhance this unique natural heritage.
The park will be given a central role in the project, serving as a botanical reserve and biodiversity sanctuary at the city level. Layout changes will include reorganised pathways and pedestrian access to improve campus circulation. New walkways and connections between green spaces and buildings will be added, and openings will provide access to landscaped terraces in the main buildings, reinforcing the link with nature.
EDHEC is working with several specialised companies to monitor disturbances and implement corrective measures.
