EDHEC Business School is seeking a Deputy Head of Faculty (Data Science, Economics and Finance) based on the Lille campus. This role involves teaching, significant management responsibilities and minimal research duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staffing: identify needs for external lecturers, recruit and propose hourly rates.
  • Onboarding & Integration: welcome new external lecturers and ensure their smooth integration.
  • Curriculum Oversight: review and approve course syllabi, ensure content adherence and pedagogical quality in coordination with course leads.
  • Examination Management: ensure consistency in grading, timely submission of grades, and debrief with course leads.
  • Course Evaluations: distribute student feedback surveys, analyze results, provide feedback to lecturers and decide on contract renewals.
  • Department Representation: attend programme events, School Councils, Teaching Committees (if delegated), parent meetings, Open Days, Campus Days, and Graduation Ceremonies.
  • Corporate Partnerships (as needed): source case studies.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Ph.D. in Finance, Econometrics, Data Science, Statistics.
  • Proven teaching experience and strong team-management skills.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Excellent organizational, pedagogical, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

 

Terms & Environment

  • Open-rank faculty position in a teaching track. The position requires 210 hours of teaching per year (incl. some repetition).
  • Managerial and operational duties; very limited research requirement (i.e., one pedagogical case study every two years or one academic paper every three years).
  • Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
  • The position is based in Lille.
