Lille

Le Chti is an association founded under France’s Law of 1901 by four Lille students in 1973. The association distributes 200,000 free copies of its guide, Le Chti, listing recommended addresses in the Greater Lille area. The tone is student-like and humourous (as are the students that write it!), but all of the tests are performed in a highly professionally manner. The guide is distributed each year in Place de la République in Lille, as well as in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, Roubaix, Croix and Faches-Thumesnil during the launch weekend in March. For the last 15 years, the association has also published another guide for parents and children, Chtite Canaille. 50,000 free copies of this guide are distributed. It contains numerous addresses and games pages and the tone is designed to appeal to children.
