Lille

Since 1984, the Prix de Court association has been organising the Lille European Film festival, Europe’s first film festival organised by students. Each spring, the festival sets up camp in the Lille area with screenings and evenings at the UGC, Univers and Majestic cinemas as well as at various cultural venues.  The European Film Festival comprises 70 short films selected from the 3,600 received from all over Europe, a jury of film professionals, out-of-competition themed evenings, a village set up in the heart of Lille for a weekend, a national scriptwriting competition, a film market and more. The association also organises short-film nights at the Univers cinema every month and conducts social and cultural mediation actions through the medium of short films in various environments (schools, grandes écoles, penal establishments and hospitals in the Lille area) throughout the year.
