Agora students held another 'Rencontre de l'Agora' event on Wednesday 19 October, this time with Bertrand Badie, Emeritus Professor SciencesPo Paris and Associate Professor-Researcher at the CERI international research centre.
EDHEC students tackled a wide variety of passionate subjects with the political scientist and international relations specialist, including US politics, the recent submarine contract crisis, NATO, Afghanistan and climate issues.
Bertrand Badie also talked about his book dealing with globalised powers and the need to rethink international security (‘Les Puissances Mondialisées. Repenser la sécurité internationale’ in French)
Throughout the exchange lasting close to an hour, students and the professor and author decrypted the geopolitical subjects making the news and furnished a precise and exhaustive view on current crises and issues.
Responding to the question from students ‘Is international co-operation capable of facing up to the climate crisis?’, Bertrand Badie said: ‘The first thing to remember is that ‘climate peace’ henceforth depends more on social behaviour than political choices’.
An interesting and inspiring viewpoint, in tune with EDHEC Business School’s 2025 strategic plan.
Congratulations to Agora students for this new top-quality and highly rewarding interview.
