Leading with Humour [webinar]
Laughter can relieve stress and boredom, boost engagement and well-being at work, and spur not only creativity and collaboration but also analytic precision and productivity. In short “The workplace needs laughter.” says Harvard Business Review in an article published way back in 2014 already.
Why can humour be helpful when leading teams?
When we laugh, our brains release hormones. One of them is oxytocin, a hormone that prompts our brains to create emotional bonds, to trust each other more which is especially helpful in this post-pandemic world where remote working is here to stay and therefore teams meet less often in person. Humour can be “one of the most powerful forces an organization has for building genuine connection, well-being, and intellectual safety among our colleagues.” says McKinsey in this insight report.
