Appointment and Grant for EDHEC Professor Raman Uppal
At the end of September 2019, EQDerivatives launched The Journal of Systematic Investing in response to demand from quantitative professionals and asset allocators that are active or currently exploring portfolio diversification and optimization across asset classes in developed and emerging markets. The JSI will be at the forefront of the evolution in systematic investing. It will feature theoretical and practitioner research from leaders in systematic investing worldwide.
Amit Goyal, Professor of Finance at the University of Lausanne, is the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Systematic Investing (JSI). Professor Raman Uppal (EDHEC) has just been appointed Editor for the JSI for the years 2019 to 2021.
Dr Raman Uppal is also Chair of the Society of Financial Studies (SFS) Council and has been a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London since 2002. He is Academic Director of the EDHEC PhD in Finance programme, teaches Continuous-time Financial Economics, and serves as thesis advisor for PhD candidates.
In 2019, Professor Uppal received the Inquire-Europe Grant (€10,000) with co-authors Victor DeMiguel and Alberto Martin-Utrera for their paper titled “Crowding and Liquidity Provision in Factor Investing”.
Inquire Europe provides financial support for academic research projects with potential useful insights for the field of investment management. The purpose of Inquire Europe is to encourage the use of practical advanced quantitative methods in investment management, to foster the study of finance and to support basic and applied research in the field of financial analysis in the European Common Market.
