EDHEC and UTampa Launch Double Degree in Data, Tech, and Business
Earn two MSc degrees in data, tech, and business with EDHEC & UTampa’s new double degree—gain global skills and U.S. specialisation from Fall 2025.

EDHEC Business School has launched a strategic new double-degree programme with the University of Tampa (UTampa) in the USA, designed for students in the Master in Management (MiM) – Data Science & AI for Business track. Starting in Fall 2025, students enrolled in this programme will earn an MSc from both institutions—positioning themselves at the intersection of European business expertise and American tech specialisation.
Specialisations for future-facing careers
The dual-degree programme offers students the option to choose among three high-demand master's specialisations at UTampa:
- Business Analytics: Focuses on data-driven decision-making across finance, marketing, and operations.
- Cybersecurity: Provides in-depth training in cloud security, digital forensics, and risk management.
- Information Technology Management: Combines IT strategy, systems management, and leadership development.
“This agreement offers EDHEC students a valuable opportunity to specialise further by choosing among three high-demand fields at University of Tampa: Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology Management,” said Victor Planas-Bielsa, Academic Director of EDHEC’s MiM - Data Science & AI for Business. “Each track complements the MiM Data Science & AI training, enabling students to tailor their academic path to fit specific career ambitions.”
The added dimension of specialisation empowers students to focus their learning in high-growth areas, whether it’s mastering data-driven decision-making, strengthening knowledge in cybersecurity, or preparing to lead IT strategy in global organisations.
Distinctive academic profile that stands out in the global job market
The programme offers more than just academic enrichment—it also shapes globally competitive professionals.
“Graduates of the dual-degree programme gain a distinctive profile that combines European business fundamentals with American technical specialisation—a combination highly regarded by international employers and consulting firms,” Professor Victor Planas-Bielsa explained.
In today’s competitive job market, international exposure serves as a key differentiator.
“The international dimension of this programme creates a distinctive profile that is increasingly attractive to employers in tech and analytics,” he added. “Graduates demonstrate the ability to work across cultures and systems, blending European business acumen with U.S. technical expertise—an asset for multinational firms and consulting roles.”
Hands-on learning in the U.S.A. Tech landscape
Students will gain hands-on, project-based experience through UTampa’s curriculum, engaging directly with U.S.A. businesses and tackling real-world technology challenges.
According to Professor Victor Planas-Bielsa, this “strengthens applied skills and builds portfolio-ready work.” He noted that such practical experience “helps build confidence and adaptability—qualities highly valued in sectors where innovation, collaboration, and global awareness are key to success.”
Global networks and career resources
Participants in the double-degree programme will have access to both institutions’ alumni communities and career services—doubling their networking opportunities and expanding their reach globally.
“These connections are particularly useful when exploring international opportunities, leveraging both institutions’ corporate partnerships,” Professor Victor Planas-Bielsa noted.
A forward-thinking collaboration
“This double degree programme emphasises global mobility, academic excellence, and interdisciplinary learning,” said Thom Pittz, Associate Dean for International Programmes at UTampa. “Students will benefit from a curriculum enriched by cross-cultural perspectives and access to faculty, resources, and networks from two top-tier institutions.”
As Richard Perrin, Associate Dean for International Relations at EDHEC Business School, echoed this vision:
“A double degree with a respected U.S. partner like UTampa gives our students a real edge and a head start on global careers.”
The key takeaway
For students in the MiM - Data Science & AI for Business track, this Double Degree is more than just an academic credential—it’s a launchpad into impactful, international careers. With access to targeted specialisations, real-world experience in the U.S.A. tech landscape, and dual alumni and career networks, this programme offers a clear advantage in the data, technology, and consulting sectors worldwide.
In addition to the Data Science & AI for Business track, students enrolled in the MiM – Business Management track can also benefit from this collaboration by joining UTampa’s MS in Marketing programme.
