EDHEC, a world of opportunities

Could you introduce us to Favro?

Favro is my artist brand. Currently, I am working on the professionalization of my musical productions, the creation of all the audiovisual content necessary for my brand image, the growth of my social networks, the development of my website and the relations with other actors in the field (labels, artists, festivals...).

FAVRO is my stage name. The brand works very well in terms of logography.

Your project is unusual.  How did the EDHEC PGE prepare you for the creation of your artist brand?

At EDHEC, we are encouraged very early on to develop our personal projects. I discovered the entrepreneurial spirit of the school during the orals and I really liked it. In the Pré-master's programme, with the permission of Professor Hager Jemel, I was able to combine the electives in preparation for the double degree with Centrale Lille and the Start-Up Challenge.

The Start-Up Challenge allows you to get initial feedback on your project, refine it and focus on the points to be improved.

In a four-year course, it is enriching to be able to do this in the first year. The courses also allow us to acquire a solid theoretical background and address specific issues that will be useful for the development of our projects.

Finally, the associations allow us to apply useful skills to the projects and at the same time to have responsibilities from the first year.

I belonged to the logistics pole of Gourm'EDHEC. We were responsible for coordinating the teams, managing the schedule of events, the inventory... and the unexpected, such as an oven that doesn't heat up!

You benefit from the CEO for six months scheme.  What does this mean?

For six months, this scheme allows us to give our all to our project by benefiting from all the resources of the incubator, meetings with experts, and co-development sessions with other project leaders, a welcome emulation and a fresh look.

During this period, we have no classes and no exams. We have the freedom of our schedule, which requires a strong capacity for self-management. The progress of our project depends only on us. It requires a lot of discipline. The pressure is different from exams or internship assignments.

I am at the incubator in Nice, which gives me an opening to the festivals that take place on the French Riviera.

What is the achievement you are most proud of?

After a few years of not being able to concentrate on creating music, I managed to sign a song to a label. It's worth it to hold on to your passion. Dreams turn into goals and then into achievements.

One of the pillars of the Grande École Programme is internationalism. How does this translate into your course?

Next year, for the Master 2 year, I will go on a one-year exchange to the University of Graz to study for an MSc in International Management. I want to continue to familiarise myself with the cultures of Northern Europe. Cultures that are close to my musical style: electronic music.

I have already spent six months in Sweden. I also did a six-month internship in Germany at a Japanese company. I came back bilingual.

I need to speak several languages, acquiring linguistic knowledge, and know other cultures, to understand their relationship to work.

I plan to return to Sweden to start my career.

Your best memory of EDHEC?

My first day in the EDHEC amphitheatre with the whole new class. I realised how far we had come. Everything makes sense. We have four years ahead of us to seize a million opportunities that are available to us.

Three words to sum up your EDHEC experience

Support. Hard work. Flexibility.
