I have always been interested in Sustainable Finance but was often told it was a niche market. So the opportunity to listen to an experienced finance expert was something I did not want to miss. Philippe Zaouati told us about his career path from quant research to CEO and how essential it is to work on a topic that matters to you and to the world. He told us that the Covid-19 reminds us how Humans are linked to the environment and nature, that business will not go back to usual after this crisis. He believes this peculiar time will lead to a greater interest in Sustainable Finance, especially ESG. According to Philippe Zaouati, there are career opportunities in Sustainable Accounting, in the development of standards for responsible finance, in advising individual investors about Sustainable Investment and also, in data research. This discussion was very enlightening. It provided us with information and perspectives about the post-crisis trends both in Sustainable Finance and on our careers and how they could evolve. It encourages me to keep an eye out on the Sustainable Finance opportunities and revived my interest in this field.”
