EDHEC remodels its Bachelor

EDHEC Business School announced an extensive transformation of its bachelor degree, the EDHEC International BBA, in Paris on Tuesday 27 January. The remodelling adapts the programme’s pedagogical model to the diversity of student backgrounds, the internationalisation of students and major contemporary issues.

Faced with increasingly diverse student profiles and changes in learning methods (particularly triggered by AI), EDHEC conducted a fundamental review geared to restructuring the EDHEC International BBA, the School’s four-year undergraduate programme. This reform, which comes into effect in September 2026, revolves around three key principles:

  • Singularity: harnessing the wealth of personal and academic backgrounds

  • Hybridisation: fostering multi-disciplinary and transversal approaches that blend human, data, management and innovation sciences

  • Agility: developing adaptability and resilience in a changing and complex world

In addition to reinforcing core modules in Year 1 and existing trajectories through new subjects (political science, geopolitics, societal and planetary issues, etc.), the School is introducing two new trajectories in Cycle 1 (Years 1 and 2 of the BBA):  Human & Management Sciences (80 places) and Data & Management Sciences (40 places).

These tracks round out the existing offering: Business Management (French Track + English Track) and the Global Business Track, as well as the double degrees run with King’s College, the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille (FLD) and the Technological University of Compiègne (UTC). This programme structure enables students to concentrate on subjects related to their knowledge and expectations in Cycle 1, before consolidating their choices and exploring other themes in Cycle 2.

Building a progressive and coherent programme, suited to changing student profiles and contemporary issues

The Human & Management Sciences trajectory caters to students interested in the humanities and social sciences. It notably includes classes in sociology, psychology, philosophy, art history, political science and geopolitics. The Data & Management Sciences trajectory, which is designed for students with more quantitative profiles, offers specific modules like linear algebra, algorithms, Python programming and an introduction to machine learning. In each case, 20% of classes will be specific to the students’ chosen trajectory, while the remaining 80% will comprise core modules forming part of the classical Business Management track. This structure will enable students to gradually build dual expertise, while reaping the benefit of a demanding academic platform focused on management.

All in all, five trajectories will now be offered on Years 1 and 2 of the BBA, in addition to double degrees. These trajectories are suited to the changing profiles of students: with 106 nationalities now represented on the BBA, students arrive on the programme with different aspirations and cultures. This specific feature makes the EDHEC BBA one of the most open bachelors on the French market, while also offering one of the richest variety of academic trajectories at undergraduate level in France.

Students then opt for a pre-specialisation in Year 3, organised into two tracks, Organisation & Management and Business Analytics, each of which will account for 40% of their classes. In Year 4, they will now choose from 7 specialisations and 14 concentrations, i.e. narrower forms of specialisation. In addition, a new specialisation, Public Policy & Management, will teach students how to understand, analyse and influence public and private governance dynamics, through two possible concentrations, Cultural & International Institutions and Public Relations. For students choosing the quantitative track, the School has structured three new specialisations, Quantitative Marketing, Quantitative Finance and Data Sciences & AI. Students on this track will have the opportunity to work alongside students from King’s College, UTC and Albert School engaged in double degree programmes with EDHEC.

Reinforced academic experience

This remodelling reasserts the EDHEC International BBA’s ambition to provide personalised support to students, right from the first semester. This will notably involve reinforcement in mathematics and languages, as well as mentoring. The objective is to give students the means to fully exploit the programme’s rich offering, while enabling them to leverage their strengths.

During the four years of study, students will also be able to do between 10 and 21 months of internships (depending on their choices) and thus increase their professional and international exposure. A minimum of one semester will be spent on academic exchanges abroad, in addition to internships outside France and the chance to undertake a volunteer experience within an NGO or a charity in an international environment (via EDHEC Global Impact Projects).

Lastly, students can take part in numerous initiatives designed to strengthen their socio-cognitive skills from Year 1 onwards. These include the AI Hackathon, experiential and collective initiatives like Community Action Projects (previously SIPs, i.e. flagship projects that run throughout the first year and which involve conducting a local citizens’ action consistent with the UN’s sustainable development goals), as well as a range of learning modules (rhetoric classes, communication, self-knowledge, negotiation and conflict management, etc.).
