Saee Suryakant - Global MiM - GETT

In an increasingly globalised world, pursuing higher education abroad offers students both academic growth and the opportunity to live and learn in multicultural environments. EDHEC’s Global MiM – GETT programme, USA/Asia pathway, is a compelling example of this, offering students the chance to study across Paris, Seoul, and Berkeley. For Saee Suryakant, this unique academic path became the gateway to international exposure, personal growth, and professional aspirations.

Why EDHEC? Global Reach and Real-World Learning

With a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and 1.5 years of professional experience, Saee was clear about her ambitions. France, known for its high-quality education and strong global rankings, was her first choice for a Master in Management.

I was targeting top-ranked schools in France, and EDHEC stood out. The Global MiM - GETT programme offered a unique opportunity to experience both Europe and the U.S.A.—two regions I was keen to explore.

First Steps in Paris

Arriving in France marked Saee’s first time living abroad. From navigating the language barrier to adapting to group-based coursework, the transition brought both challenges and excitement.

“Living in Paris, that's the most exciting part. The campus is in the centre of Paris, so you explore the city.”

She felt welcomed in her academic teams and quickly found her footing in group projects — a learning format not typically emphasised in Indian undergraduate education.

Academic Highlights: AI, Strategy and Collaboration

One of the most impactful courses so far has been Marketing and AI, which explored how marketers can adapt to the rise of search engines powered by generative AI: “It was fascinating to analyse how LLMs are changing the way people search online—and how that affects marketing strategy.”

She also found courses like Strategic Management particularly enriching, especially when combined with hands-on group work, which she describes as both collaborative and a source of personal growth: Group projects are not a big part of Indian education, so working closely with peers from different cultures has been a new and valuable experience.”

Despite occasional language-based challenges within larger groups, she notes that her teammates have always treated her as an equal.

Support and Settling In

Housing was one of the more complex aspects of relocating to Paris, but EDHEC’s support made a difference. Saee opted for accommodation through Nexity:

“It is more expensive, but safe. EDHEC acts as a guarantor, which gives peace of mind and avoids scams.”

She also praised the accessibility of programme staff: “Whatever issues we had, Timéo was always there to help.”

Visa processes were relatively smooth thanks to strong France–India ties.

Advice to Future Students

To students considering the Global MiM – GETT track, Saee offers clear and practical advice:

  • Know your goals: “Choose the Europe or USA/Asia pathway based on where you see your career.”
  • Connect early: “Reach out to alumni or current students before arriving. It really helps.”
  • Be open: “Even if you don’t have work experience, be curious and willing to learn.”

A Launchpad for the Future

Looking ahead, Saee is excited to continue the programme in Seoul and Berkeley — two cities offering innovation, diversity, and global opportunity.

“We’re not just studying in these cities—we’re immersed in them. Whether it’s Paris for fashion and business, Seoul for tech and culture, or Berkeley for innovation—it’s a rare, transformative experience.”

The Global MiM – GETT programme has provided her with a global stage to build her career in technology and management — and the confidence to navigate any international environment. It gives you an opportunity to study in the best cities, from the best schools. I’m fascinated by tech, and I hate not knowing things – so this programme is perfect for me.”

With aspirations to work in the tech sector, she believes the programme is already proving to be a valuable investment:“This journey has already expanded my worldview. I’m confident I can work in any international setting—and that’s a big win.”
