Loick Menvielle: ‘For us, technological innovation in healthcare is not an end in itself. It must be understood, accepted and integrated into everyday practice’
In this short interview, Loick Menvielle, professor and director of the Management in Innovative Health chair, outlines the mission, impact and ambitions of this initiative, which he has been leading since 2022.
"In Europe, 85% of healthcare professionals believe that AI will improve diagnosis, but barely a third use it on a daily basis. In France, only 24% of patients with chronic conditions monitor their health using digital tools, and 9 out of 10 French people trust their doctor more than an algorithm [...] For EDHEC and the chair I head, the conclusion is therefore clear: technological innovation is not an end in itself. It must be understood, accepted and integrated into practical use by both healthcare professionals and patients themselves, who are the first to be affected by these challenges..." - Loick Menvielle
