Agora, EDHEC's student forum, hosted Jean-Pierre Petit, the CEO of McDonald's France, for a lively talk on the Lille campus on 10 December, 2013. The event, which drew more than 300 students, allowed all present to learn more about Mr. Petit’s brilliant career as well as the original business strategy that has made McDonald's a huge international success.
Mr. Petit joined McDonald's in 1995 as Senior Vice-President for Marketing and Communication.
He introduced the company's transparency policy and gave McDonald's image a makeover through a number of initiatives such as installing a McDonald's stand at the Paris International Agricultural Show, and introducing French recipes and brands.
He also brought about numerous changes such as introducing new technologies such as customer order terminals. In 2004, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Petit is also a founding member of the BDDP communications agency, which manages the communication needs of major French and international brands such as Michelin, SNCF, Virgin and McDonald's.
