EDHEC Finance Fair 2013
EDHEC Business School's annual Finance Career Days in Nice is an event that allows students in the prestigious Finance Economics track to meet with representatives from some of the top companies in the world, including JP Morgan, PwC, Morgan Stanley, and Société Generale.
At this year’s event, held September 19 and 20, representatives from 39 banks, investment firms and multi-nationals were in attendence. Students were able to meet with additional companies via a virtual forum that put them face to face with corporate recruiters in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Shanghai.
"The Finance Career Days event creates a unique opportunity for students to get information, to network and to get an internship or first job," explained Fernanda Diaz, EDHEC Career Centre director. "For recruiters, it’s an ideal place to meet highly motivated and well-prepared applicants who are ready to respond to the current challenges facing the finance industry. It’s an absolute win-win."
The Finance Career Days event wrapped up with a round table discussion around the theme of "How to develop talent in-house?" EDHEC professor of management Monique Valcour moderated the event and participants included Pierre-Antoine Duffaud (EY), Malcolm Horton (Nomura), Terence Perrin (BNP Paribas), Susan Slack (EDF Trading).
The Financial Economics track, part of the Master in Management, "Grande Ecole" programme, specialises in all aspects of finance, from trading and asset management to auditing and management control. More than 700 students are in this top-flight programme. The MSc in Financial Markets, one of the degree offerings that make up the programme, was ranked fourth in the world by the Financial Times in 2013.
