Book publication: "Family Businesses: A Model for the Future and for All”

EDHEC Business School proudly announces the publication of "Family Businesses: A Model for the Future and for All” ("L’entreprise familiale: Un modèle pour l’avenir et pour tous"). This book was realised with the aid of six LLM Law & Tax Management 2013-2014 students from EDHEC.

Although frequently neglected by the media, family businesses constitute a fully-fledged corporate model. All firms can learn much a careful analysis of the family-business model, bearing in mind that these businesses have resisted particularly well to the economic headwinds experienced since 2008.

The book employs an original approach that draws on an analysis of academic research (and notably the expertise of the EDHEC Family Business Centre) and a series of interviews with family business leaders that provide a means to test research assumptions and conclusions in practice.

"Family Businesses: A Model for the Future and for All” is not reluctant to question accepted ideas about family businesses, but nevertheless arrives at a clear conclusion: the factors that make family businesses strong are worth studying for all firms.
