The Fondation d’entreprise Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe presented 50 scholarships worth a total of 200 000€ to high-achieving Edhec and Espeme students at a special ceremony March 11 on the Lille campus. Presenting the scholarships for Crédit Mutuel was Eric Charpentier, General Director of Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe (CMNE).
The scholarship presentation was made as part of the EDHEC Rising Talents fundraising campaign, which aims to promote social and cultural diversity on campus. The CMNE contribution represents a total commitment of 1 million euros over five years. EDHEC Dean Olivier Oger thanked CMNE for generously contributing to the business school’s scholarship programmes since 2010.
Mr. Charpentier congratulated scholarship winners for their academic excellence and restated his bank’s commitment to business education: “You merit your place here at EDHEC and we don’t want any of you to miss out on this fabulous opportunity due to financial restraints.”
Representing the group of scholarship students, Natacha Ozanne, Espeme 3, and Etienne Bouvier, EDHEC M1, thanked CMNE for its support and explained how such financial aid has helped them to pursue their studies.
“For me, this scholarship means that I can dedicate myself 100 percent to my studies and the student association that I help to run,” said Etienne, who is president of the Prix de Court, an EDHEC student group that organizes an annual European film festival in Lille.
“I owe Crédit Mutuel a big thank you,” said Natacha. “Thanks to this aid, I have been able to participate in three internships – one in Florida and two in Paris – and I have been able to study in South Korea. These experiences have been very important to me in terms of my personal growth and my formal education.”
The scholarship event was attended by Edhec students, professors and administrators, and was followed by a festive reception.
