the start of a new school year

EDHEC Business School kicked off the new academic year in September with the arrival of hundreds of international students from around the world eager to get started in the 2-year Master in Management, "Grande Ecole" programme, or in the 1-year, Masters of Science degrees. The school also celebrated the grand opening of a 5 000 m2 extension on its Nice campus.

New international students (Master in Management & Masters of Science) - representing more than 40 different nations - got a warm welcome from Dean Olivier Oger and the faculty. They were also greeted by current students who were happy to help the new arrivals settle in and get used to life in France.

New student Shuo Zhang, 24, from China, was excited to start her studies. "I am happy to be here at EDHEC," said the MiM, Business Management student as she toured the Lille campus, which is similar to those in the U.S., with lush lawns and comfy dorms. "I like the campus, the trees, the sports facility and the park – it’s beautiful, like a dream!"

Besides its campus, EDHEC Lille also offers a high-tech auditorium, comfortable student lounge, and impressive sports facility, one that includes an indoor swimming pool, weight-training room, and basketball court. Other campus amenities include a cafeteria and self-serve food court. There’s even an elegant mansion dedicated to executive education!

On the Nice campus, which offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, new students met with current students as part of the annual Buddies Day, an event aimed at helping new arrivals to adapt to life at EDHEC. The friendships that are made during this event are often those that last the longest, stretching far beyond EDHEC classrooms.

At Nice, international arrivals also got the chance to tour the new extension, which includes 4 amphitheatres, several modern meeting rooms, a gym, state-of- the-art library, and a learning and media centre.
