Professor Valcour wrote a paper entitled National context in work-life research: A multi-level cross-national analysis of the adoption of workplace work-life arrangements in Europe, which was published in the European Management Journal in October 2013. The paper's co-authors, Laura denDulk, Sandra Groeneveld, Ariane Ollier-Malaterre, share the Kanter award with Professor Valcour.
The paper was selected from over 2500 articles published in 2013 in 77 leading English-language journals from around the world. The award winners were announced 21 June at the Work and Family Researchers Network Conference in New York.
The award - presented by The Center for Families at Purdue University and the Boston College Center for Work & Family - is named in honor of Rosabeth Moss Kanter, the most influential contributor to modern literature on work and family.
