Launching a career in Asset Management is hard: it is a competitive and much atomised sector with a large number of players of different sizes. In small asset management companies, in particular, the recruiting process may not be as structured as that of large investment banks, and they have little visibility of students and recent grads. In spite of this, every year, more students at EDHEC choose asset management as their preferred career path.
That is why EDHEC-Risk Institute (ERI) and the EDHEC Career Centre have partnered to launch a very selective track to prepare outstanding students. The Asset Management Career Track is addressed to selected and high-potential Masters of Science students in Financial Economics interested in asset management.
Selection is made on grades, professional experiences and TI&CD results. Selected students will receive specific training for the asset management recruiting process and individual counselling. Specific communication will be done to promote their profile to asset management recruiters and they will also be invited to the annual ERI Days in London.
This year, 15 students have been selected and had the opportunity to participate to the EDHEC-Risk Days Europe in London last March. Students benefited from networking opportunities with key professionals and had interviews with a selected number of companies. Prior to this event, comprehensive training sessions were organised in order to best prepare students for these encounters and interviews.
'Over all, it’s very valuable event, and I strongly feel that it’s helpful in many ways.'
