EDHEC MSc in Marketing Marketing and Global Business students had the chance to discuss supply chain issues and e-commerce, among other topics, at a recent lunchtime meeting with EDHEC alumnus Luc Gaudemard, Senior VP for Europe of Groupe SEB.
Mr. Gaudemard, who graduated from EDHEC in 1983, was invited to speak with students about his marketing and management experience by MSc in Marketing Director Guergana Guintcheva and Marketing Professor Sylvie Jean. Mr. Gaudemard joined the SEB group, which manufactures small home appliances and cookware, in 2001 as VP of Marketing for the brand’s cookware line. He later worked in the U.S., where he served as General Director of Core Businesses. He is also a member of the company’s Management Board.
During the exchange with students, Mr. Gaudemard talked about how to create retail and customer value through good product category management; gave some examples of ways that SEB works with its corporate partners; and explained how a customer-centred value chain functions. He also answered questions from students on a variety of topics. For the more than 200 MSc students who attended the event, it was a truly inspiring presentation.
The SEB group is a member of the EDHEC Business Club, members of which provide valuable input regarding the school’s course and programme development. Mr. Gaudemard was joined by SEB Campus Manager International Claire Guillemain d’Echon, who met with students after the presentation to discuss possible internships and jobs with the group.
