These two figures are among the twenty or so most prominent lawyers working in France. Legendary and influential lawyers, these men in black take on big cases and important clients. The Clearstream Affair, the Outreau trial, the Karabatic brothers, Merah, and many others have spurred on the chevalier of the Legion of Honour and so-called Acquittador. As prominent in the media as he is mysterious, Éric Dupond-Moretti, for his part, fulminates against the total absence of a culture of doubt in France, and his book Bête noire he attacks the French legal system.
