Pamela Lirio is assistant professor of management in the people, markets and humanities department at Edhec Business School. She has a PhD from McGill University, an MBA in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, California, and a BA in Communication (with a minor in French) from Boston College.
Prof Lirio's research interests include global careers, international human resources management, gender and generational diversity, cross-cultural management and international work and family.
She teaches organisational behaviour, human resource management and international management at executive MBA and masters level.
Her current research investigates emerging configurations of global work among young global managers in dual-career families (global gen Xers) and how they address their professional, family and personal demands while working in today's 24/7 global economy.
Prof Lirio is also examining current HR practices to recruit, retain and develop global talent. She has presented her research in Japan, Italy, Spain, England, the US and Canada. Recent publications have appeared in the International Journal of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management, Career Development International, the Sloan Work and Family Encyclopedia and various edited books.
Prof Lirio was recently chosen as an early career scholar of the work and family researchers network (WFRN) and also currently serves on the executive board of the Women of the Academy of International Business. She has also worked in finance, marketing and consulting in North America and Europe.
