Marketing Genius is a yearly and premium contest for young marketers, organised by the House of Marketing, Belgium's first Marketing Expertise and Excellence Centre. The objective of this competition is to challenge young marketers and give them a new networking opportunity.
Over 800 young potentials and students entered the first round of the competition to show their passion for marketing and about 400 participants made it to the second round, in which they had to formulate a point of view on one of the 13 given topics. The points of view were judged by a jury of consultants from the House of Marketing, academics and marketing professionals. Out of these 200 submissions, 10 finalists were chosen to present their point of view in the third and final round.
During the final held at the Headquarters of the House of Marketing in Mechelen in Belgium, each finalist had to convince the jury of their point of view (roughly comprising 15 judges, including the CEO of the House of Marketing) and answer their challenging questions.
"The Marketing Genius has been a wonderful experience for me. During the competition, it was highly interesting to meet other young marketing addicts and get to know their point of view on marketing. Besides winning Marketing Genius has already brought me fantastic opportunities! I have presented my vision on marketing on Kanaal Z, Belgium's premium and national business TV channel. Also I have explained my marketing solution at the Delhaize headquarters and the retail chain has decided to implement one of my ideas nationwide! "
