My experience at EDHEC started in September 2010 when I joined the MIM Financial Economics Track in Nice. It was a big step for me because it was the first time that I would have to start living alone and make my own decisions. Fortunately for me, I knew French so I didn’t face the language problem and the fact that everyone at EDHEC is so helpful to make the international students’ life much easier. The quality of the MIM programme is also very good and provides the perfect foundation for the Masters specialisation after the gap year.

During my gap year, I was in Bahrain doing my internship at BNP Paribas CIB as Fixed Income Sales. It was a very valuable experience as I got the opportunity to learn a lot and enrich myself. I was mostly involved in FX Sales on the corporate side and as a result worked on a lot of FX options pricing, scenario analysis, flow trades such as spot, forwards & swaps etc. The thing that I liked was that if you proved you are good they would get you involved in the deal-making process for major deals. This year helped me to decide which Master specialisation I wanted to take for my final year of study.

In September 2012, I came back to EDHEC to join the MSc in Financial Markets. I am looking forward to the year because the quality of the course is fantastic and so are the professors. Another unique aspect of this year is the Talent Identification & Career Development (TI&CD), a venture of the Career Centre. I believe that this is very useful in practicing for the upcoming real-life interviews that we will be facing once we step out into the professional world. Throughout the year, we also have the Career Fairs attended by many companies from all industries. The fairs provide a perfect opportunity to build a network.
