Marketing Professor Michael Antioco was recently appointed Head of Faculty, Marketing at EDHEC Business School. Professor Antioco is an expert in the high-tech, Fast-moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and luxury markets, and has worked on new product development and advertising projects with well-known international brands such as ING Banking & Insurance, Philips, Lancel, and French retailer Printemps.
As Head of the Marketing Faculty, Professor Antioco will play an important role in staff development. He will also join the Faculty Management Team, a group of professors who oversee all facets of faculty development and programme management. As part of the EDHEC 2020 Business Plan, the Management Team will also play a key role in pedagogical innovation and the creation of a “Lab” for testing new teaching and learning techniques.
“I feel like it’s my role to develop, implement, and monitor our strategic objectives while also staying focused on the individual needs of our marketing professors,” Professor Antioco said. “I hope to recruit some new professors and to ensure that marketing students leave our campus with a positive feeling about the education they received. I also want to be more proactive in promoting our expertise and research developments to the corporate world.”
Professor Antioco’s appointment – as well as that of Professor Björn Fasterling as Head of Faculty for the Law Department – was announced by Dean of Faculty and Research Christophe Roquilly. Professor Antioco and Professor Fasterling assumed their new positions Sept. 1, 2014.
