Whilst family businesses may be the prevalent form of company ownership and a major economic force in terms of growth and jobs, they are the least understood. EDHEC's new Family Business Centre will help fill this knowledge gap by undertaking and publishing targeted research and case studies with a focus on the managerial quality of family businesses.

The research activities of EDHEC Family Business Centre will be grouped together under the auspice of the EDHEC Family Business Observatory headed by Florencio Lopez de Silvanes, EDHEC Family Business Centre Scientific Director, Ph.D Harvard Economics. Dr Lopez de Silanes coordinates a team of world-class international academics who bring outstanding academic and research experience to the Centre.
