Students from around the globe met with members of the EDHEC international admissions team as part of the 2nd International GMATCH Virtual Fair. For EDHEC, the fair was a real success.
Instead of travelling to a distant city, students who participated in the event, held Sept. 10 and 11, chatted online, in real-time with representatives of the admissions team. There were students from Asia, Africa, South America and many other places, said Sophie Simard, EDHEC Head of International Admissions and Development.
“It was really a great time,” she said. “We were zipping around the planet – from India to Russia, America and back to Europe. We really felt like we had a connection to the world.”
Each school that participated in the event – this year there were 94 institutions from 11 countries – had a virtual booth with their profile page, some photographs, and programme brochures. Students interested in a particular school could initiate a conversation with an admissions representative by sending an instant message or requesting a video chat.
Although other European schools also participated in the event, which was organised by GMAC, EDHEC was the only European business school invited to take part in a virtual conference on the business school experience. George Gkatzilakis, a Greek student in EDHEC’s MSc Financial Markets programme, took part in a student panel and shared his experiences with participants around the globe.
